After testing many different paper filters, we have found one that both delivers in terms of cup quality as well as being more friendly to the planet. These filters are made of fibres from the Abaca plant (Manila Hemp) which grows fast and replaces traditional wood fibres in the paper. Cafec has made a really nice paper filter that does not influence the flavour of the coffee with negative paper flavours (we still recommend rinsing it with water pre-brewing) and that filters well with a reasonably fast flow. It works really well with our light roasted coffees as we are able to get high extractions without clogging / blocking the filters.

Key Features
- This paper filter is made with fibres from the Abaca plant (Manila hemp) and wood-pulp from a forestation project. Abaca is a plant that grows almost like plantain and is therefore a more sustainable source of paper fibres compared to filter paper made of fibres from traditional wood only.
- The filters are compostable and fully biodegradable.
- Made in Japan by Cafec.
