How To Brew

To get you started, here’s a recipe:
  • Metal filter (included)
  • 14 g. Coffee, finely ground
  • 200g. Boiling water
  • 30 – 60 Seconds brewing time
This recipe is the one we use currently but it all boils down to personal taste. Whether you like your coffee stronger or milder or perhaps you prefer the mouthfeel a paper filter gives you? (All types of AeroPress-size filters fit SteepShot). You might like the body and depth of a longer brewing time, or the clarity of a shorter one. With SteepShot, it’s up to you.

The important thing to remember when brewing with SteepShot is that the water needs to be hot; at least 90 degrees Celcius. Without steam, there’s no pressure, which means no shooting.

Key Features

What filters can the SteepShot use?
  • The Steepshot can use any filters that fits the Aeropress. Size 54 - 63 mm.

  • Standard metal plate filter (comes with SteepShot):
    • Drains fast, which gives you better control over the brewing time
    • Lets oils and some sediment pass through
    • Durable and easy to clean
  • Paper filter:
    • Filters oils and sediments
    • Drains slower
    • Makes a cleaner cup
What Grind level is recommended?
  • The general rules are as follows:
    • The coarser grind, the longer the steep time
    • Experiment and have fun. The best grind setting is the one that makes you happy.
