5 Christmas Gift Ideas for Coffee Lovers

It’s just started snowing here in Oslo and it seems like everywhere we go, the topic of Christmas and pressents is on everybody’s lips. So, because we ourselves love the taste of coffee on our lips, we’ve put together this little list of gift ideas for you and your loved ones. Happy holidays!

1. Coffee Gift Subscription – from NOK412,-

Now this is the obvious one. If you or someone you know is a fan of Tim Wendelboe coffee (or is looking to get into specialty coffee), then you should really consider getting a limited-time coffee subscription, available for either 3, 6 or 12 months. What this means is that every month for the duration of your subscription, you get a selection of Tim’s favourite coffees delivered straight to your doorstep anywhere in the world. You can choose to get either a Filter coffee subscription or Espresso, and between 1-3 bags each month. Prices start at NOK412,- per gift subscription, which gets you 1 bag of coffee per month for 3 months. All our coffee is freshly-roasted, single-origin coffee that we prepare ourselves here in Oslo. Scandinavia is known for its light roast and we’ve spent many years trying to perfect ours. Enjoy!

2. Kaffeboka by James Hoffman – NOK399,-

This is a beautiful world guide to coffee written by our dear friend Mr. James Hoffmann. Taking the reader on a global tour of coffee-growing countries, The World Atlas of Coffee (Kaffeboka in Norwegian) presents the bean in full-colour photographs and concise, informative text. It shows the origins of coffee – where it is grown, the people who grow it; the cultures in which coffee is a way of life – and the world of consumption; processing, grades, the consumer and the modern culture of coffee. This book is an essential and up to date read for those who are interested in coffee. Please note that this is the Norwegian translated version of the book.

3. Figgjo “Oslo” Cups – NOK165,- per cup

This one is for the coffee connoisseur. Another great stocking idea, think of the Figgjo “Oslo” cups as the coffee equivalent of red wine, white wine and champagne glasses. Tim helped design these alongside Kristin Hærnes Ihlen from Physical Design and Figgjo. There are three different cups in the series – Tulip, Split and Open – all made to enhance your coffee drinking experience. The “Tulip” is designed for coffees with lower acidity, the “Split” is for coffees with intense fruity and floral aromas with bright acidity and the “Open” is more of an all-round cup.

4. Coffee Tasting Gift Card – NOK150,- for 2 people

A nice little stocking filler, give this to someone you like and who you think deserves a tasty experience. In exchange for this card we will give a coffee tasting at our espresso bar here in Grunersgate 1. Our freshest coffee offerings will be brewed and presented for two people to enjoy. How’s that for a coffee date? The tasting will give a small insight to how delicious and diverse coffee can taste.

5. (Merry) Christmas Coffee from Nacimiento

Last but not least, we have of course our Julekaffe / Christmas Coffee – the Nacimiento Bourbon from the April harvest earlier this year. Imagine getting one of these inside your stocking or under the tree. This has got to be one of Jobneel’s best lots in 2017, a later harvest than the other Nacimiento coffees we have already released, which means it comes from higher up the farm and has a much more intense, sweet and fruity flavour. We’re tasting red wine, cherries and red apples. Perfect for Christmas!

That’s it. We hope this helped give you some ideas and takes a little stress of your shoulders when preparing for all the holiday festivities.

Merry Christmas / God Jul from all of us to all of you.
