Our 2012 Coffee Prices

I know it is a bit late, but I completely forgot to post our 2012 coffee prices. So, here goes. 2012 was a challenging year for a lot of our farmers, fighting abnormal rain patterns, leaf rust, thefts of coffee etc. Still we managed to get some pretty good coffees to Norway, all thanks to our hard working partners at origin. I have written a lot about offee prices in 2012, so if you would like to learn how the trade works for us, then please read these posts.  We did not buy any extremely expensive coffees in 2012, so our average price per lb (453g) was slightly lower than in 2011. This is mainly due to the market price going down a bit and especially calming down the price of our Kenyan coffees to a more sensible level as the crop in Kenya was bigger than in 2010/11. Also the best lot we bought for a very high price was stolen on it’s way to the port. (The whole truck of coffee was stolen.) I have already been in Kenya this year and am writing from El Salvador at the moment. Some of our long term projects with our farmers are finally giving results. We are also  implementing new processing techniques based on successful results from a lot of trials we have done in the past years. Therefore it looks like 2013 will be a very good year in terms of quality of our coffee. I am actually so excited about it that it has affected my sleep the past days, as I have been working on a lot of new ideas for next year. But enough rambling. Here are our coffee prices from 2012
