Shipping Information

Where do you ship and with what shipping method?

We are pleased to offer international shipping. Unfortunately, due to customs challenges, we are not currently able to ship to Russia.

 

Norwegian orders:

We currently use Posten for packages delivered within Norway where you can choose between normal mail with no tracking or “Pick-up parcel” with tracking.

 

International orders:

International customers (sales outside of Norway and EU) can choose between Norwegian mail service with no tracking or DHL with tracking (also called EXPRESS WORLDWIDE).

 

EU orders:

We only ship tracked with DHL (also named EXPRESS WORLDWIDE) to countries in the EU. See the EU tab for more information.

 

Gift subscriptions are always sent with Norwegian mail with no tracking and are therefore currently unavailable for EU customers.

 

Note: There are some countries we are only able to send to with DHL at the moment as the Norwegian Postal  Service is not able to deliver to all countries due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Please check this website if your country is open for postal delivery with normal mail.

How much does shipping cost?

The cost of shipping depends on weight, volume and destination. The price for your shipment is calculated and added to your total during checkout.

How long does shipping take? Will my coffee still be fresh?

We want you to enjoy the freshest coffee possible, so we always send coffee within a week after it was roasted. All our coffees are packed in nitrogen flushed and vacuum-sealed bags. This increases the shelf life of the coffee and our coffees should therefore taste sweet and fresh at least for a month after roast date.

In our experience the optimal period to consume our coffee is from 1 week after roasting to within 5 weeks after the roast date, (although it can still taste great after this). We have found that the best brewing results come after allowing the beans to rest approximately 5-10 days after roasting. This de-gassing period allows time for most of the CO2 from the roasting process to evaporate. In other words, by the time you receive our parcel in the mail, you should be ready to go.

 

Shipping times with Norwegian Post varies depending on where you are. The amount of shipping days is out of our control and we unfortunately cannot offer tracking on this service.

NORWEGIAN POST

Norway (tracking optional): 2 – 5 days
United States: 5 – 10 days
Rest of world: 7 – 20 days
EU-countries: Not available

DHL

With DHL, tracking is provided.

Europe: 2 – 3 days
Rest of world: 3 – 4 days

 

Please note that because of varying degrees of lock downs due to the Covid-19 situation, deliveries outside of Norway with postal service may take anywhere from 1-6 weeks. DHL is not affected by this delay in a significant way.

Do I have to pay tax and duties?

All EU orders are sent with DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), meaning that you don’t have to pay any additional taxes after placing your order. The price you will see at checkout is including all custom duties and VAT for the EU country you are located in.

 

All international orders (orders outside of Norway and EU) sent with the Norwegian Mail service do not include local import duties or taxes. The recipient is responsible for all import fees, custom taxes and local taxes that might occur imposed by the country where shipment is made. All DHL shipments are sent DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), meaning customs declaration, duties & taxes are included in the freight price.

 

Our coffees are generally able to reach our customers outside of Norway and EU without any delays and charges through customs with Norwegian Mail because the value is normally below the amount for tax registration. Countries have different maximum values for duty free import though, so it all depends on the size of your order and your country’s laws.

Shipments to EU-countries

On 1 July 2021 the value added tax (VAT) exemption for the importation of goods not exceeding EUR 22 was removed. As a result, all goods imported to the EU are subject to VAT and we can no longer send coffee under EUR 22 without paying VAT.

 

Since these law changes, we are not able to use the Norwegian Mail service for EU shipments. Therefore we are only able to ship to the EU with DHL shipping with tracking (also called EXPRESS WORLDWIDE). All shipments to EU-customers are sent with DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), meaning that the price you will see at checkout is including custom duties and VAT for the EU country you are located in.
