Finca Guapoton
During our visit to Colombia in May this year, we tasted a lot of coffee together with the cuppers at Cooccentral (the co-operative in Garzon, Huila.) After all the tasting, they finally understood what type of coffees we were looking for. The cuppers at the co-operative then started looking for farmers that had consistently delivered such coffees over the past years.
Mr. Oliviero Perdomo is one of these farmers, and after tasting his intense and winey coffee we just could not resist buying the whole lot. As an award for growing such great coffee and also to motivate Oliviero to try to improve the quality even more next year, we payed him over 3USD per kilo more than the current market price. Hopefully we will be able to cooperate with Mr. Oliviero in the future, but only if the coffee is tasting as great as this year.
Oliviero owns 2 small farms and both are Rainforest Alliance certified.
You can see a slideshow from our trip to Colombia on the bottom of this page.
